Yes… it’ll rust. But for my use it’s no big deal… and even adds a little style to it. And beleive me, it ain’t gonna rust through, even a 1/4 of the way through, in one person’s life time.

Have your local welder rig up a grate to cook on the top and you’ll be done fine for rustic outdoor cooking.
