Ordered this item on 01/13/2010 said it was shipped out 01/14/2010. As of 01/19 still had not received it. Was sent usps and supposed to arrive 01/19/2010. Called Amazon 01/19/10 they gave me credit for shipping charges but told me to wait till 11/25/10. This is 1/25/2010 and NO Hammock…No Updates from Amazon or USPS. Called they refunded my money, but 12days and nos answer ? Terrible service.

My son considers himself an outdoorsman and he will love this hammock. It’s so lightweight and camo is his favorite color.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband since we go to the North Shore almost every weekend. It is perfect! Very easy to set up between various coconut trees without hurting them, it’s lightweight, packs down very small, it’s durable, and it’s comfortable. It’s nice not to have to lug the big chair with us. I decided to go with the Grand Trunk brand because I wasn’t really sure of the real differences between the two brands. The differences I did find were in the material, price, and strap setup. Based on the reviews, the material seemed to be more breathable and ideal for Hawaii climate. The strap setup- well I didn’t find the rope to be as user friendly or easily compatible with different scenarios (based on the reviews of course) so I did buy the ENO slap straps pro to use with it. And the last difference: price. I couldn’t pass it up. GT was 1/3 the price of ENO so…

Very Light… Compact… Easy to setup… Not as comfortable as cotton hammocks of the same cocoon style but at a fraction of the weight and space this is perfect for Bug-Out Bags, SHTF packs.

My son set it up for me between a tangerine and a small orange tree. He said it took a few tries, but he figured it out easily enough. Fabric is nylon and very lightweight. Dries Fast! But the S hooks have started to rust, even though I only left it out for a few days. We live in the tropics and it’s quite humid. But because it’s so light, it’s easy to take down (leaving the ropes up) so the hooks shouldn’t rust too much more (fingers crossed.)
Pro’s:
+ easy to set up
+ lightweight
+ dries fast
+ affordable
Con’s
- a little too narrow
- fabric doesn’t ‘breathe’
